BUS SAFETY
This week we will be having our annual bus safety training. Each classroom is viewing a video created by the Minnesota Highway Patrol. They will then practice an emergency evacuation drill on Wednesday morning. Even if your child does not take the bus to school on a daily basis, they still ride the bus to Mass and for any field trips. Thanks to Roxann at Hicks Bus for helping with this day.
REMINDERS
FAITH FORMATION DAY is Monday, October 5th. There is no school for students that day. The teachers will work together to grow and share in their faith. Please pray for us that day and we will do the same for you.
DRESS CODE
Students are not allowed to wear shorts to Mass. They can bring shorts along and are allowed to change into them after Mass. If they do not have clothes to change in to, you will be called to bring clothes for them.
SHORTS
Our dress code also states that "Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be knee length. Shorter skirts may be worn with leggings or tights." I realize that this may be difficult with styles and availability. Please make sure that shorts, skirts and dressed are closer to their knee than their bottom.
MARATHON TRANSPORTATION FORM is due on Tuesday, September 29th.
PARENT DRIVE DAY A form was sent home asking for your plan. This is due on Thursday, October 1st.
MARATHON UPDATE
SMALL STEPS BIG INTENTIONS WALK
The marathon is next Friday, October 2nd!!! We have had rallies every Friday afternoon and everyone is excited for the big day. This is our schedule:
begin our day at school
have Mass outdoors
walk the marathon with families (We will split into 2 groups each going a different direction while keeping socially distant.)
have our Smile activity outdoors while reading intentions
enjoy bagged picnic lunch provided by the Knights of Columbus
release students to their families at 1:00 p.m.
We hope that you will join in and walk with us. If I have not met you yet, please stop me and introduce yourself. If it rains, the event will be students only. Please remember to pick up your child(ren) at 1:00 p.m. Please pray for good weather!!
DONATION UPDATE
Every week during the Marathon Rally we announce the tally for the week. This week our total is $29,592. We only have one week left and quite a ways to go. Have you contacted the businesses that you received? We need everyone to do their part to contact family, friends, and the businesses in their packets. I am sure that we can make our goal of $60,000 if we all work hard this final week. Remember that people can only say yes if you ask.
NWEA
We are finishing up with NWEA tests. These tests are not timed and so we have a few students that need more time to do their best. We also have a few students that have been absent and need to complete them. Please continue to encourage your child to do their very best.
Have a wonderful weekend!
