March 26th Newsletter

HAPPY EASTER!

Our spring break begins on Monday, March 29th. This time off is a chance for both students and staff to rest and recharge. We will return to class on Tuesday, April 6th ready to begin the fourth quarter and finish out the year. No newsletter will go out next week.

WE MADE A CHANGE

Jamie Revermann is the director of the Meeker Area Food Shelf. We have been collecting change all month. The AFC churches joined us in this project. Jamie came down to school this morning. We all met her on the playground and gave her $1,878.07! Because it is FoodShare month, this is actually worth over $7,000. Thank you everyone for making this a fabulous Lenten project!

There are two birthdays being celebrated over Spring Break. Ms. Torborg (4-1) and Aili Friedrichs (4-4). Our first week back we have 2 more birthdays. Cash Hesse (4-7) and Greta Vetsch (4-7). May God Bless each of them.

DISCOVERY 2021

This week, we finished up our virtual Discovery Day. In the past we invited the preschools and 4-year-olds into the building to have a true School of St. Philip experience. This year we have been sending out fun snowman themed activities for them to do. 4 staff members, Ms. Torborg. Mrs. Roers, Fr. Jeff, and me, taped a reading of the book Little Bear’s Special Friend and posted it to our web page. The children were given their own copy of the book so that they could read along with our guest readers. Discovery Day, like so many things this year, has forced us to be creative and think differently. Kudos to the Marketing Committee for keeping this tradition going.

Thank you to Deb and Steve Dufresne. They brought in a chocolate Easter cross for each student and staff member at school. They are wonderful supporters of our school and we are grateful.
