Back to Work!

This week has been nice to settle back into the routine, and I had a chance to get in and observe in some classrooms this week. In first grade they were working on action verbs, in 2nd/3rd grade science the class brought toys from home to demonstrate motion and force, the PE classes began gymnastics, 4th/5th grade were studying the Works of Mercy, and in kindergarten they were using play dough to make words this morning.

I enjoy my visits to the classrooms and am always impressed by the ways our teachers engage the students through activity, movement, and connection to the world outside of school. We are fortunate to have such dynamic teachers and lively learners!

Catholic United Financial Raffle

Thanks to all who have brought in sold raffle booklets. As of this Monday, we had reached the 20% mark. That means the students have earned a hat day. This has been scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10.

Please continue with your efforts to sell the books you were given and request more from Mrs. Roers when needed. Also, note that each ticket should be filled out completely. Please double check your tickets before returning them to the school.

Yearbooks

There is still time to place your order for the school yearbook! They are $10 for a full-color book. To place an order, contact Mrs. Roers and send in payment.

CSW Thank You

Once again, thanks to all who helped make CSW such a memorable week for our students. We appreciate the work of our families so much!

Conferences Sign-up

Winter conferences are scheduled for 2/25 and 2/27. Please sign up for a conference slot using the following link: CONFERENCES SIGN-UP

Receipts and Box Tops Clipping

We continue to collect Family Fare receipts and Box Tops for Education. The Box Top program has changed a bit, though, and we now can use an app to gain the points instead of clipping the packages. Click on the picture to be linked to the website and sign up.

“Unplanned” Movie (reprinted)

Adults are welcome and encouraged to attend a showing of the movie “Unplanned” tonight, Thursday 2/6 at 6:30 PM at the Church of St. Philip. The film tells the true story of the impact of abortion on a young woman’s life. May we continue to pray for an end to abortion and all things that harm God’s sacred gift of life.

Raise Your Glass

Get your tickets for this year's Raise Your Glass event! Students took home information last week about this annual scholarship fundraiser. This is a great event for us adults, and we encourage you to buy tickets, bring friends, and enjoy the night together. It is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, and pre-sale tickets are available in the school office now for $20.
